software suggestions?

Hello, im pretty stupid when it comes to computor software. Im looking for a program that I can make photos with music that will play on any dvd player. Im making sort of a monthly photo diray of motorcycling events im involved in and would like to have it so I can add each month onto the cd or dvd. Then at the end of the year I can make copies from my orignal to give out as Christmas gifts. Any ideas what to look for? Im running windows xp and have tge moviemaker program but it doenst seem to work unless it is played on a computor. Dont think I have a dvd burner installed? I can play dvds on my computor rhough Thanks in advance! Andrew
