I want to apply solution finish to wife's suv but its raining every afternoon. How long does it take to dry before it can get rained on. It looks like a quick dry product but I want opinion of previous users before I apply it prior to rain. I believe I've read most here wipe down with eraser or alcohol product of some sort first which I plan to do as well.

I believe you are supposed to wait 4 hrs before getting it wet. But, I'd give it a day.

I'm going on at least one month after applying SF to my tundra. Very happy so far, but something tells me also to wait for a day.

From a Q&A session with
Chris West of Solution Finish:

Q.
How long after buffing off excess from
any application does the product need
to dry or cure before it can be exposed
to condensation or rain?

A.
"The longer, the better, naturally---but the
minimum time for drying or curing seems
to be about 4 hours before exposure to
condensation or rain".

"For demonstrations, I will apply Solution
Finish and then immediately pour water on
the part just to show the beading that occurs;
then I will buff off the moisture with no ill effects".

I got 3 hours dry time before the rain hit. I went for it seeing no rain on the radar & finished at 3:00,but it built up and was pouring by 7:30. I'll hit it with blower to dry it this morning & hope for the best. Sucks trying to do anything on a vehicle in SoFlo this time of year between the heat & rain.

OK...
It may not have reached the recommended
minimum 4 hrs. drying time; and the overall
length/time of durability (12-18 months)
may have been somewhat compromised...
{:dunno: Solution Finish is not a 'Coating'}

But, IMO:
You will wind up probably wanting to "refresh"
this trim product at around the 6-8 month
time frame anyway.
