Not sure if this makes sense but ill give it a shot lol. Im looking for a dedicated carpet shampoo something that is foamy and lifts the dirt up and out. Something I can saturate carpet mats in and use a scrub brush on my DA and brush it really good then rinse the soap away.

Something kind of like this

I currently have Folex, HD total, Megs APC+

As they do great for stains or spots it doesnt seem to take out the general darkness of a mat.

For example I got a truck today to work on and the mats were really bad because it was a work truck. The interior is a light brown but the mat was really dirty and was a really dark brown. There was also a lots of stains and spots like things have spilled. Now My products got those stains out yet the carpet remains a dark brown..

Heres what I did

I brushed carpet (to loosen any dirt or stuborn dirt deep in the carpet)
Vacuumed the carpet to remove dirt
Spray folex over the mat
Scrubbed for 5 min
Dried with towel

Then I repeated that with APC+
then I repeated that with HD total

So I tried these 3 cleaners. The mat lightened up quite a bit and lot of the stains of whatever spilled came out perfectly yet the mat remains a dark brown..

Just wondering if a dedicated foamy Carpet shampoo would be good to get deep down in there to lift up and out the dirt while I use my DA with a scrub brush attatched to get it back to its light brown color.

Here is one possibility.

When I was working for a large school district, the crew that 'did' the carpets used a "dry foam shampoo." It was not truly 'dry' (it was diluted with water), but the foam looked to lift the dirt up and out. Along the wall edges where the foam would accumulate, you could see the dirt/sand and whatever. They (the crew) would then use a broom to remove it.

With that said, the chemicals were made by Johnson (I think) and the machine was a German name. Along the lines of 'Von Shradder' or something like that.

So maybe a Google search on either of those MAY get ya going.

Good luck! Let us know whatcha find.

It could be that's as good as it gets? That's a lot of cleaning with reputable products so if after all that it's not back to a factory new look it could just be the mats are past the point of no return...

Once I weighed the option of trying to clean worn front mats for a Honda Pilot purchased new and the price of purchasing brand new replacement front mats from Honda and we simply went with new mats. Since these were the only parts of the vehicle that we couldn't "detail" to look new, by replacing them the entire Pilot looked 100% new.

The section where your foot rests below the gas pedal tends to become so worn that even cleaning won't make it look original, new mats are the only way to fix that type of problem.

DP Carpet Cleaner foams a good bit if you are looking to try out something in the DP line.

The next time you get floor mats that are in that bad of shape hit them with a power washer. You will be amazed at how much mud comes pouring out and how clean they come. If you don't have a power washer then simply head on down to the local car wash.

You can try power washing the matts at your local coin car wash, if you dont have one.Suck up the water with a wet vac, and let dry.

I actually ordered some of this Auto detailing car wax

From what I read APC/Degreasers are great spot removal but you need a dedicated carpet shampoo to lift the dirt out. So that should be here soon and I will give it a try.
I have used the Auto-Magic E-Z Clean. I was very happy with how it worked. I don't think you will be disappointed. BTW, it doesn't smell bad either!

I have used a power washer a few times and it has worked very well. I also use the brush attachment on my PC to scrub them. That with the DP carpet cleaner it foams up like crazy. They come really clean, but some stuff just isn't going to come out as some have mentioned.

:iagree: Nothing looks better then fresh factory mats. If your crazy like me you'll put a towel down or flip them upside down to preserve that fresh look

Yep pressure wash and then use a plastic ice scraper to pull the majority of the water off then vac.

If you dont use the PW then I suggest, ditch the towel. Even if you blot it, some of the dirt leftover is being pressed back into the carpet. Go straight to a vac. Wet/Dry vac works best.

But then you are looking at that ugly towel all the time.. Good for resale though.

I have a gallon of detail king carpet shampoo but have never used it. It just sits on the shelf.

My factory mats are still sealed in the plastic they came in... I just bought a set of WeatherTech floor liners and use them exclusively.

I love that stuff, and I've used Simple Green, Rug Doctor Products, Bissel etc...
