Something seems like it did some damage to my paint. I'm not asking how to get rid of it (as I am 100% it's not coming off), but what the heck caused it.
02 Ranger with many many miles on it.
I washed it yesterday for the first time in a few months and noticed this in three spots on the passenger side.
It does look like it is under the clear, because the clear looks lifted. I scrubbed with IPA and nothing happened.
It looks like a very deep blue stain. Almost like bad touchup, but I can see it affecting the smoothness of the clear.
Sorry for the low res photos, but it's a junky work phone.
In this picture it is right in front of the white cars bumper

And a couple more shots. If you look closely near the tree branches you can see the stains.
It doesn't look too bad as luckily they are small, but hopefully they don't want to grow or flake off eventually.
Anyone know what it may be??
Battery acid? Some chemical?
I didn't notice anything anywhere else on the truck.
