bought the sonax to use on my car. but now I'm thinking of trying it on my 2015 black ram truck. I can't seem to wash & dry this truck without getting swirls & spider webs. would like some opinions on using the sonax. I'm thinking maybe a white pad with my PC 7424 ? I'm not sure how aggressive the cut & finish is. I know the ram paint & clear is on the soft side. anyone here use it for what I'm suggesting ? I bought the cut & finish for my repainted car(to get rid of holograms). thanks

Test spot it and check out the results. It's a good product.

I will. I was just worried that with the soft clear this product would be to aggressive. I'll post my results. should be able to try it today. thanks.

just finished using sonax cut & finish & the results were great. I wasn't trying to get out every single scratch, but dam near did. the white pad worked out well. I was really impressed with gloss using this product, what a shine. I was always a big fan of HD speed but this might be my new favorite. thanks

Is this a compound only?

Glad to hear that :xyxthumbs:. It works very well and produces great results with various pad combinations.

It's a 1 step compounding polish.

I think so ? here's a couple of quote's.
SONAX Cut & Finish has a high abrasion level with an incredible gloss rating that truly puts it in a league of its own. SONAX Cut & Finish is the compound you’ve been searching for!

What about Cut & Finish makes it a game changer? On a scale from 1-6, with 1 being the least and 6 being the most, SONAX Cut & Finish is rated at 5 for cut and 5 for gloss. Using the same scale, a conventional compound with a cut of 5 would have a rating of 1 for gloss!

I did top it off with some wax. when I use HD speed I don't normally top it off unless I've got time. I don't think I'll be using sonax all the time, but I really like it. my thinking is the truck is 2 years old now & I still want to have some clear coat & paint left in the coming years. it's tough to just wash a black vehicle & make it look great. you always need to touch it up with something. jmo

If it's only a compound---then should be followed up with a polish.

If I understand this right---a very good compound that looks LSP ready will start to look so and so after a couple of weeks once the sun, heat and weather takes its toll on the paint.

'' If it's only a compound---then should be followed up with a polish''
or do you mean wax or sealant ?

Think of it like the UHS compounding polish. Cuts like a compound but finishes like a polish. Except no need for special pads like the UHS combo.

Both great for production details where 1 step is all that is needed.

Give cut & finish a try. They offer a small bottle.

you right about giving it a try. I'm going need more because of my elcamino. paint job is 10 years old & still looks good. but it has holograms from day one. I'm feeling confident about tackling job.

Bringing back this older thread as I just took delivery of a small bottle and will be testing it out along with the UHS System on a 15 year old BMW M5. Update to come.

Just used Cut & Finish on my daily with the Rupes green pad. Great product and very versatile. Not sure how it would handle really hard paints. But overall I am satisfied with it for a one step. UHS is good as well but not everyone wants to invest in the pads. This is where Sonax gets the edge in versatility. Also no dusting from both which is a big plus in my book.

Good point, Guz. Plus the amount of space them pads take up!

Good to hear. I have their entire pad system, UHS, wool, blue, green, yellow and white, 6ea outside the wool which I'm likely just going to keep 2 as I find the LC Blue ones work better. Will be interesting to see how these products perform.

Sorry to dig up an old thread.

Question: is Cut & Finish supposed to be watery? I got a small bottle and it's very thin and splatters everywhere. Counterfeit maybe?
