sonax perfect finish

Only issue I had is that it tended to dust a little bit. Other than that it worked well.

Are you having issues with it?

No- but I have not used it yet
This product is a tad on the expensive side compared to most others- and I am considering purchasing the small 8 oz tube to give it a try, so I thought I would ask prior to spending the jack

Wait for the sales this week and save a bit on it.

Ex 04-06 is a good polish from Sonax as well.

To avoid the dusting issue, you really don't need a lot of product. Two drops to start off with and one drop after that. Spray a little distilled water. I find with sonax cut and finish as well as perfect finish, they dust very obviously when I don't spray a little n914 waterless wash mixture on the pad.

i never understand on not priming a pad
with a unused pad and only a few small drops isn't most of the pad working dry? abrading the surface?

I prime the product with a spray of n914 instead of wasting levelling fluid.

If you're using a DA go with 04-06. Rotary go with Perfect Finish.

I've never had 04-06 dust on me, it's a great polish.

I would suggest distilled water on the pad anytime you polish but that's me.

Check out these two videos. Perfect Finish works on a DA as well.

Pay attention to about 3 mins into the video.

Guys, what is the shelf life of Sonax Perfect Finish? AG sent me 2.5yrs old tube, I'm not sure if it is still good to go. and if it is, how much longer will it be good to be used?

thanks

Btw. I just got a small bottle in the last sale. That’s right. A 250ml bottle. Not the annoying dispensing tube. It was a nice surprise. It’s the same bottle that the cutmax comes in.

does it say manufacturing date on it? 2.5yrs seems a bit old to you?

I've never understood priming a foam pad. Any modern polish like Boss Perfecting Cream or HD Polish+ contain plenty of lubrication which negates any potential pad induced marring. It all comes down to personal preference but I highly suggest trying a polish like HD Polish+ that actually works better on a completely dry unprimed pad.

I havent even primed mf pads lately. Just a bit more polish on the first run.

I cant say for sure with the Sonax- but after reading a thread on here somewhere a while back on shelf life, I called 3D and inquired about shelf life on their products, specifically speed , poxy & cut+ , and the rep told me that as long as its kept from extreme temps( espec. freezing) there is really no shelf life. So I keep all of my polishes and compounds inside my home. So take that for what you will.

I had read in that previous thread where some folks had their products change to more of a runny liquid from a thicker state.
