Sonax rubber protectant -Tire problem

Hi all
I purchased this Sonax product
SONAX Rubber protectant :: Tyres, Rims, Rubber :: Products :: Car Care - SONAX - cleaning and polishing like a professional
It is intended for rubber protection, and I used it as such - on door sills etc.
But I also used it on my tires (only the sidewalls of course). While it performs great on door sills (it repels water, so they appear dry even after the rain, but it is a "good dry" look, not old and dried out, just dry and clean) it makes the tires look dry too, without that "new tire shine". I am afraid that it will repel any tire dressing I will apply on my tires. I haven't tried any tire dressing yet, just asking to be safe - how to remove it from the tires (the ingredients are listed on the product site). I'd be grateful for any help.

I tested this product out when it first arrived and remember it leaving tires looking dark black and wet looking?

Here's the pictures... them be my hands...

Are the tires old or already dried out?

What was on the tire sidewalls previously?

I used Sonax Rubber Protectant, what is shown on your pictures is Sonax Xtreme Tire Gloss Gel if I'm correct.
And That was a first thing I ever put on my tires. The detailing shop that was taking care of my car previously put some tire dressing on it, but it was a long time prior to my cleaning the car (including tires of course, with car shampoo- also Sonax, I am using mostly Sonax products before I order some better stuff from here ) and applying Sonax Rubber Protectant. I did it over 3 weeks ago, it was raining a lot during those 3 weeks and the effect still lasts...

Ah, the tires have 13.000 km on them (8 thousand miles that is) on a new 2010 VW Golf TDI.

Well at least the product I was thinking of does make tires dark black and shiny...

As for the Rubber Protectant, the finish you're seeing could be normal, I don't know I have not used the product. I can give it a test tomorrow but it's too late today for this reason...

Mike, did you have a chance to look into this?

If anybody's interested, the solution was quite easy, after washing the tires and rims with Poorboy's APC diluted with water 1:1 and applying Wolfgang Black Diamond Tire Gel, tires look shiny, new and great.
So this problem turned out not to be a problem at all.
