This is a vehicle that I have maintained for the last 8 months since it's initial detail here....
http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/show-n-shine/5489-detailed-2005-bmw-525i.html
I see it bi-weekly and it has been washed everytime with NXT Tech wash. It had a second coat of Souveran after a wash about 4 months ago. So, that's two coats about 4 months apart with a total of 16 washes. Pretty good durability for a paste wax in my opinion.

Here are some of the pictures of this mini-detail....

At arrival:
It's been two weeks since my last visit and the customers were gone on the road for the Thanksgiving holiday. Lots of road grime and the famous BMW brake dust!

After a an application of Meguiar's Wheel Brightener and an NXT bath, I decide to shoot some pics of the beading that shows some nice protection still.

I dried it with a Guzzler and done the interior while it finished drying. With the UDM, I prepped the surface for a new coat of Souveran. I used Poorboy's Polish with Sealant this time to clean the paint. I love the finish it leaves also along with it's added protection. I used a blue LC CCS pad and when I was done with the paint, I removed the pad and sealed the wheels. Finally, out came the Souveran. I applied a thin layer with a Wolfgang applicator pad.......black foam side. I did one panel and then removed promptly.

Here's the finished results........

I don't use paste waxes a lot but this is my go-to one when needed.

It's ironic you make this post about Sov. I've gotta client with a Dodge Charger that has the same durability as the BMW. 7 months strong and mainly just hand washed and quick detailed. The depth is still there meaning it's Sov, not the quick detailer.

Nice work Justin!

Very Nice work..glad to see you get long tern durability from a beauty wax

To me the Souveran looks shot ... but that's if you believe beading = protection and to what extent. Just basing it off of the beading pictures I'd say its history... the irregular beading, elongated beads, beads not tall, it looks sloppy. The car still looks good but I think it'd look the same after a dawn wash or alcohol wipedown. How was the slickness? The vertical panels look better than the horizontals though. I'm not critisizing anyone / anything but just looking at the pictures I'd have a difficult time saying that it was still protecting (based on beading).

:whs:Yeah, it was definitely time for another coat of something:buffing:

while I have not personally seen this durability, it is noted that beading is not a true indicator of the protection or lack of protection. Remember simply adding beeswax to any wax will provide tight and uniform beading and yet does nothing for paint protection. With Souveran, when the glow is gone its best to re-add a coat. So darn easy, its not worth complaining about.

Thanks bud........you're awesome. Knew you would show up.
I was mainly going for the look and slickness as an indicator. It had dried some when I noticed that I still looked like I had just waxed it.

I don't think most would have even noticed if I didn't rewax it and had just dried it and lied about putting on another coat.

LOL!

Exactly. :iagree:

Based on beading. True not a good assumption there. Look at the gloss though.

Justin, thanks for taking the time to share that with us. Really appreciate and value your input.

Justin, when using pps, do you need to let it cure before waxing, being a sealant?Feed back please

I've talked with Steve at Poorboys and he said that there is no cure time. I've been using it this was for 6 months and have never had any problems. I use it mainly by itself though. I like using it at a cleaner before and LSP if it doesn't require polishing. Might as well protect it if you're gonna clean it.

Thanks for the reply. What do you do to keep the dusting down if anything.

Those wheels sure got nasty in just 2 weeks. Maybe they need a coat of PB Wheel glaze.

Good job as always Justin!

Don't you get a feeling of satisfaction when you transform a filthy car into a thing of beauty? Nice work Jason.
