I used this brush for about 12 times, and although it did a good job, it broke. The handle is made of twisted wire that allows flexing; Unfortunately because of the bending back/forth to the handle, it wore the through the wire, and the handle snapped off.

Other experiences?

I use mine 5-6 times a week sometimes more depending on the weather, for hmm about 4-5 months no problems yet, but I don't bend it :)

Re: Daytona Speed Master Wheel Brush???

Each time I use mine I think..."This is the time it's gonna break" but it hasn't yet and I've had it for a year now and have done at least 20 cars with it so far. Overall it's a great brush.

Re: Daytona Speed Master Wheel Brush???

:iagree: I use ours 3 or 4 times a week multiple times each day for the last 6 months with no problems :hotrod2:

Re: Daytona Speed Master Wheel Brush???

When drying don't hold the handle and shake it...this will weaken the wire closest to the handle and try not to bend it too much. I have two, one that is already bent for behind the spokes and the other one never gets bent.

Re: Daytona Speed Master Wheel Brush???

I drip-dry all my brushed... So no shaking. I also use mine for the wheel-wells so the wire-handle bends on it's own... No control over this either. :(

Yeah, that's the weak spot. Don't know what to tell you except to go easy. Had mine for about 2 years with no problems.

Re: Daytona Speed Master Wheel Brush???

Call the company a tell them it broke after a couple uses. I remember someone doing that and the were sent a new one.

Re: Daytona Speed Master Wheel Brush???

Damn I used my a couple time and I abuse them, I should take better care of them.

Re: Daytona Speed Master Wheel Brush???

i'm also worried that I will break my speed brush one day. I'm thinking of going to harbor freight and picking up a few of these. The brush is stiffer and I worry it will scratch wheels, but it will make heavy brake dust easier and I wouldn't mind bending and breaking these for 3bucks a pop

I am just not convinced by that tool. My friend bought it and it is lengthy to use. It took so much time for him to the wheels... And it looks like it will break with some rough use.

They are Tampico brushes and coarse as hell. Like using a toilet brush on your wheels. If you want something more durable, look into the Race Glaze wheel brushes.

Re: Daytona Speed Master Wheel Brush???

That brush could always be fixed with some epoxy and a short piece of broom handle or a 1" diameter wooden dowel. Just drill a hole in the handle the size of the brush shaft, fill it with epoxy and place the brush in the hole.

Re: Daytona Speed Master Wheel Brush???

I love my Daytona Wheel brush but I see where it could break in the same area as yours clapper. When using mine I try to keep my forefinger on the shaft of the brush so it doesn't bend backwards. I've found nothing else that revives itself after a nasty wheel like the Daytona does. Other brushes work okay but the bristles die a quick death. Especially with Meg's Wheel Brightner!

Re: Daytona Speed Master Wheel Brush???

I will contact the company... Good idea!

Let me try this... What do you-all use (brush) to do wheel-wells where a traditional brush is too big/awkward to fit between the tire and the fender?

Re: Daytona Speed Master Wheel Brush???

I broke two of these in a 6 week period. I am not a fan whatsoever. I warn ppl, but they don't listen as usuall

11 Inch Wire Wheel Brush

Order this one instead ^ It won't let you down :props:

P.S.....Let the BBQ grille jokes begin

Re: Daytona Speed Master Wheel Brush???

PPL? I tried searching on "EZ Detail Brush" which is on the handle... No luck finding it. Clue to the manufacture?

I'm sorry. Ppl is short for people. Not the manufacture of this brush

Found it: Bikebrush by EZ#Detail Email sent... Stay tuned!

If you were disappointed with the Daytona, you will be spitting bulletts if you order a EZ Break...urrrr Brush. Those are even designed worse then the Daytona

Look at the link I provided in my last response. It's a wooden handle brush. Like RSurfer stated, the bristle are very stiff (and so is the handle) but I have used this brush on numerous different wheels and have never suffered any ill effects
