I'm not sure if they are the same, but there was a critter in my hood 2 days ago spinning a web while scurrying across the surface. He literally stopped, turned around and stared at me. Big sucker.

check around and see where/if there is a spider somewhere (vents/window edge/carpet/under seats/etc). might be time for a light vacuum while you are it. hopefully, you don't come across one of these!
