Can someone give me a detailed explantion of these 2 processes:
Spit shinning?
Quick detailing while drying (WAUD)?
I want to try them but i want to do them right. Thanks

QDing while drying is just adding lubricant to your drying towel to prevent marring. You will get some added protection and shine using this method. Spit shinning is layering waxes. Are you old enough to remember spit shinning boots in the military? Waxes have solvents to keep the nuba soft and this solvent will remove the previous layer of wax. So by spraying ice water on the surface of a previously wax paint, or on the applicator, the ice water will harden the previous layer of wax and dissolve the solvents in the wax that you are applying. I have tried it, but it takes a lot of time and the rewards are not worth the effort IMO.

So you cant layer waxes? Even after they cure? I thought u could but i new to all this so im still learning. or maybe im miss understanding.

And yes i remember spit shinning boots, hell i remember doing it in JROTC

In general the solvents and chemicals in a wax "could" remove some/all of a previous coat and cannot easily be determined. Most do two coats of a wax for uniform coverage and to assure complete coverage also. Sealants generally can be topped, but also somewhat limited and often a point of diminishing return comes into play. Dont believe 10 levels of this or that actually offers a better look, or longer durability. Often its just wasted product.

Topping is done , sealant to wax, primarily for good looks. They want the durability of a sealant and the dripping wet good looks of a wax.
