Splitting Up a Detail?

I was thinking about the following plan to help split up a detail on my truck in order to avoid spending ALL day working on the truck. I am thinking about doing the following:

This weekend
Wash
Clay Bar
Spray Wax
Next Weekend
Wash
Polish
Wax

Would I need to do any special wash before beginning the polish the second weekend?

I corrected my car over a period of about 4 days. It was my first time and I didnt want to get overwhelemed.

I forget if I washed or quick detailed. What I would do, if you plan to finish the job the very next day. Is to do you wash clay process and polish what you can. Then the next day do a quick detailer wipe down and polish those panels.

EDIT: I just noticed you said second weekend. I would probably just wash what you plan to correct. Then when your all done wash it once more.

No sir. I think that you have a good plan of attack. Especially if tar/bug removal is included in the wash process. My two cents.
