anyone ever hear of such a thing? if so what is this process and what does it do? i have an '01 grand prix 2dr and its a stock spoiler. (the spoiler is fat and sits flush on top of the trunk held in by star screws, torx or something?) anyways any information is helpful because when i detail the car come june, im going to take the spoiler off and eliminate all the scratches and wax residue from the previous owner. (not to mention, everytime i start the car or go up a hill after washing i ALWAYS get water dripping down my trunk.)
thx in advance.

I think there is some type of gasket between that spoiler and the trunk lid. After 10+ years it has probably dried and cracked, allowing it to hold the water until the wind blows it out. When you remove it you will find out for sure, but I bet it looks like this one...

If so you are going to have to seal it better when you put it back on.
