Hello Guys Recentlly purchase the 7424xp with the Spot buff kit after seeing Mike detail off the Lexus . I had for a couple weeks now ,today was my first time using the kit. I found it present a couple of Major Problems. First when you put the backing plate and adapter together the buffer stands almost 6 inches tall and is a little akward to control cause fell like it tip and smack of the car ruin what you are tring to accomplish a great finish. 2nd And the Major Problem which someone could get really hurt because there is so much of a gap between the pad and housing the counter weight is exposed. Today I was holding the buffer like most without the handle and accidently shifted my hand and caught tip of my index finger between the counterweight and housing giving myself a nice little blister. I then took out of the 7424 & put In my Flex Rotary which was safer just a bit cumbersome. I think someone @ AG should take a look at it and Either offer backing plate for a rotary or the one for the D/A when youbuy the kit . I plan on buying plate tommorrow morning and throwning the adater away .

Feed back please

Thank you Jason. I ordered the other backing plate Sat. I see how that fits .

You should have ordered the 3.5" Lake Country Dual Action Backing Plate from the beginning. It will reduce or eliminate all of the problems you mentioned. The 2.75" backing plate included with the Spot Buffs Kit is better for the 3" Foam Pads from Griots Garage.

I was going to but was told that the one included would work which it did but it's just akward & a little dangerous to use.I have since bought the other backing plate I works much better and there's no room for finger to get caught.

Several years ago I bought one of these kits and while polishing the adapter unscrewed from the backing plate. I had to have my hood repainted and so after that I invested in a more traditional backing plate.

I haven't had any problems with mine. It's been working great!! :xyxthumbs:
