I have these "defects" all over my car. Not sure what they are. At first I thought something got on my car, or maybe they were bird droppings. But, I started noticing them all over and even where a bird had "dropped" on my car, I was able to get those "defects" out with just buffing. Not to mention, this isn't your average "dropping" style defect. Some people had suggested my car was repainted, and I'm now starting to believe it. I finally grabbed the CarFax on my car...and bird dropping...it was in an accident. Damn car dealership told me the CarFax was clean! (My fault for not checking. First car I bought myself, that wasn't off family...so, oops).
Anyways, I shot video, but the defect didn't show up on camera. So, here's some before/after photos.
What I Used:
Meguiar's 1000/3000 Grit Foam Finishing Discs (On the PC 7424)
Meguiar's 3" Wool Spot Pad w/m105 (HF Rotary)
Meguiar's 4" Yellow Spot Pad w/m205 (HF Rotary)
P21s Concours Wax (Hand...with Meguiar's foam wax pad)
It looked worse in person, but only to the average detailer. Your average person doesn't notice it, but to a detailer, you might as well dropped a boulder on the paint it irritates me so much. They are all over the car, so I decided to test this kit out. I bought it to do headlights, but if I can get this down, I will start offering that service as well. I only detail on the side, and usually for favors or thank you's, but some day I might go pro. School is getting boring.
You can still see it in the right lighting, but since I don't have any fancy paint meters, I don't want to sand the heck out of my car. I think it's just too deep to get out. It looks like an indent in the paint, so I don't want to level it out and possibly go too far. It's so hard to see, I'd have to point it out and use just the right lighting to see it. Which, in my book...means it's good enough!
