Spots on my hood..

Hi everyone,

Not sure where i could ask about this but ill give it a go.

I have tried ultimate compound and it has done nothing... im not sure if someone has sprayed something on there which resulted in it eating some of the clear... if someone has experienced this before i would love to know how you fixed it =) thankyou

I am going to ask a few questions

1: can you lightly rub your fingernail over them and your nail catches you have a clear coat issue. If your nail doesn't catch you can be ok.

2: with UC what pad, machine if any did you use (what was your process)

3: did UC remove any of the spots?

4: what product and pads do you have?

Answering some of the information will,assist in helping.

The first picture looks like some kind of etching to me, at least it looks similar yet smaller to what I had on my car. Is there any cracks under the clear? If so, insurance should cover that under comprehensive.

Ive run my nail across it and it seems to be a little ruff but does not catch my nail (the dots)... i use a meguiars applicator and did it by hand.. ill be buying a DA in the next few months. Other products i have are NXT tech wax 2.0, deep crystal and quik detailer with clay... i have also used clay before trying the compound and no cracks are seen under clear.
