Miguiars has a technique they recommend for applying their spray waxes. You guys are probably familiar with it. You spray the microfiber towel and the panel. Spread the spray wax around but leave it wet. Let it flash dry on the surface then come back and buff it off after 5-10 minutes or so. It works really good with their gold class wax.

But what about the spray waxes from Pinnacle, Blackfire, Wolfgang, or McKee's37? Is this technique recommended for any of them or should you just stick with one panel at a time? I thought maybe nick could answer or someone familiar with the products. I have done it with some of them but its been hit or miss. it seems to work good with souveran but the black-fire kinda streaks.

how do you guys do it?

Best bet is to start with the manufacturer's recommendations. Personally, with Megs D156 and Griots Spray wax, I will mist one large or two smaller panels ( cool temps ) and spread with an MF towel. I'll then come back with a CLEAN MF towel and buff until streak-free and beautiful. You may just have to play around and see what works best for what you are using. That's part of the fun of detailing is the testing and experimenting!:props:

I will use two towels in many cases like Mike. It depends on how well it flashes.

I never tried leaving them on the panel for any significant amount of time.

I believe that Fusion spray wax is supposed to be used that way.

Normally I just wax as I dry after a rinseless wash with one waffle weave towel, and immediately flip to a dryer side to remove any remaining moisture.

I do it one of the following ways.

1. Apply to wet panels after washing to use as a drying aid and then proceed to dry the panels like I normally would.

2. On a dry car, apply a mist or two per panel, then immediately wipe off. I typically use one towel to apply, and then a fresh one for removal. I only need two towels for a whole car in most cases.

Doing either of the above, I never have streaking issues with the products I use. Wet or dry, I experience very good durability from these spray products.

How often are you guys applying the wax?

I like to apply them every 2-3 weeks, even though I know that's overkill since I've seen my spray wax as a stand-alone product bead up solidly for 2 months or even a bit longer. I like the added gloss/pop they give to the paint is why I apply them before they really "need" to be applied again.

This is what I do.
