First I heard of it, did a quick google search found their website and then with a little digging found this,

On a recent afternoon, Charlotte White demonstrated the process. She was working on a black Chevrolet Silverado HD, a farm truck marred by dozens of scratches on its sides. She taped off a six-inch-square area and rubbed in a black paint mixture — one of 19 basic colors used in the process. The paint base looked slightly gritty and thick. After it dried, she coated the area with a solvent-free polish and began buffing it out.

"If you try to compound this area, the nicks and scratches come back in 10 to 14 days," she said as she moved a power buffer back and forth over the area. When she was finished, one small section of the Chevy's left rear fender gleamed, showing no evidence of scratches.

Sounds like a version of Dr. ColorChip only with less colors and instead of chemically removing the excess you remove the excess with a wool pad on a rotary buffer. Without any follow-up polishing this will leave swirls in the paint but maybe they have more to their process than this.

Article says they have 19 basic colors. The Dr. ColorChip company matches your touch-up paint using the paint code you supply, completely different than whatever this is.

A paint chip repair won't look good if the paint doesn't match. Dr. ColorChip paints always match. The paints are mixed when they are ordered, not before.

When you place an order, you'll supply a factory color code that's found on your vehicle. Dr. ColorChip's technicians use that specific code to mix up a fresh batch of perfectly-matched paint by hand. If the color isn't a match, Dr. ColorChip will work with you to make it right - guaranteed.
