For those that know all about this wonderful fire sauce, you might laugh.

if you dont know what Sriracha is.... the oatmeal has the best explanation below.
Dear Sriracha Rooster Sauce - The Oatmeal

Sriracha is a staple with many meals. Works great on the following items
- pizza
- sloppy joes
- burgers
- french fries
- white rice
- fried rice
- anything asian
- most Italian tomato pastas
- anything mexican
- adds a good kick to most BBQ sauces
... and many many more foods!

my wife actually bought me a shirt from the oatmeal, so now I can let everyone know how much I love this tasty fire sauce. it made me laugh earlier this week, as my taste buds have adapted to the heat properties, allowing me to include copious amounts of the sauce to my foods. I realized this when the french fries were being dipped with the generous, plastered coating... without hesitation to devour it's awesomeness!

anyone else a fan of Sriracha?

:iagree: I have a big bottle in the fridge and one in the pantry waiting.

Except for the sugar and preservatives, it is good for your health.Capsaicin` increases the body`s metabolic rate, so we burn more energy(and therefore retain less in storage as fat).

I have a big bottle in the fridge but haven't made much time for cooking at home so it's been poured onto the "To Go Burrito". Best hot sauce out there IMO.

awsome post haha. i eat out at some korean bbq places & its the bomb! dont have too much or you will feel it the next morning.

I pretty much use it on just about every food item. And when eating fast food tacos and burritos, I don't bother with those little sauce packets anymore. They just don't have enough flavor to match Sriracha.

Chris not sure if you knew this but Mike Phillips is a HUGE fan of hot sauce, he puts it on all of his food. I am not sure how he even has taste buds left!

American made Sriracha is made differently than the THAI recipe .:hungry

Use it or Franks Red Hot on just about everything. Favs are any potatoes, M&C and eggs. Just had some homemade shrimp curry with a nice dose. Have pork chops marinating at home with a blend of coconut milk, hoison, soy, a tablesppon of BBQ sauce and several shakes of sriracha for dinner.

As another poster mentioned... in my sea going days we often called upon the "Cock Sauce" to add life and zest to the otherwise boring daily morsels the Culinary Specialist's doled out (think the used more anti-flavor seasoning more than any garlic powder or pepper). Runner up to Sriracha was Franks Red Hot and then the other hot sause with the wood cap I cannot for the life of me remember the name of now.

Thank you Google... Cholula

I've always liked spicy foods and regularly kept spicier items on hand including sauces like "Smack My Ass and Call Me Sally", Tabasco, more recently Melinda's, Garlic Chili Oil and just plain crushed red pepper flakes.

I'm also a big fan of Thai food...the hotter, the better! Recently, we visited our favorite Thai restaurant where I tried Veggie Sriracha. Well, I still loaded it up with the traditional side of hot chili oil, but I now have a large bottle of Sriracha in the fridge next to the others. Along with the heat, it has a really nice flavor!

I was introduced to this elixer at a Cuban restaurant in Richmond, VA... it changed my life. :)
