I have the McCullough steam toy, works great for interior issues. One guy has the 5000 for sale, 2 years old, and he wanted $800. I told him that is the price of a new warrantied machine, he dropped it to $700. Still too much IMO. What price would be far for a complete good working machine? I figure maybe $5-550. What prices have others seen on this machine? What point is it a fair deal?

Are you talking about the VX500? I thought that thing retails for around $600??

Since you're in that price range, have you considered the
Mytee Mytee-Lite II Heated Extractor?

Yes new the VX5000's run about 800. I picked up a used one last summer for 500 and its was like brand new. The guy only sold it because he needed a unit with a lot more pressure.

I got super lucky and picked up a vapormaster 3000 (same as vx5000) for $350 on craigslist. The guy just wanted to get rid of it fast.

I think around 500 would be fair for a used unit. I'm pretty sure they retail for around 800.

It's a huge step up from the Mcullough. It's well worth the price...even the full new price.

Pretty sure the vx 50000 now retails for around $800 new

a year ago it was $700

not sure 2 years ago but it may have been even lower. something to keep in mind while negotiating

unless this guy has the upgraded hose from renny doyle? thats worth some extra coin. and if he purchased from renny I think they have a loaner program if yours goes down for repair. all part of the extra purchasing cost.
