I currently have the VX5000 and it works great on so many things. But, I'm wanting to expand our steaming processes and step it up a bit with a "Steamer/Extractor". The one I'm looking at is the Vapor Clean DESIDERIO Commercial Steam Cleaner. Does anyone have any experience with this machine or possibly other suggestions? Thanks in advance for any feedback you all may have.

That model is a more expensive model than the Gaia that I have from the same company. If you do a search on Gaia, you will see I have written a lot on it. Bottom line: I have recommended it to many people and would purchase it again if something broke. I've had mine for 3 years now. Be sure to compare the specs for the 2 machines vs the cost. Let me know if you need more info.

Hi
Given you already have a VX5000, I'd suggest you take a look at the special hose that Renny Doyle of Detailing Success uses for cleaning cars. Guess he has it for sale too. :xyxthumbs:

Take care

If you have a good steamer already then why dont you get a regular carpet extractor?

I have the desiderio and it is a good steamer but the carpet extractor sucks. I am going to get a mytee here soon because when a carpet if filthy (like after a chicago winter) there is nothing like a hot water extraction to flush the dirt out. I have tried to steam out the dirt, steam transfer the dirt to a towel, and all of the other tricks but I just cant get the results of a regular shampoo with a hot water extractor. I waste a lot of time fooling around with a steamer on carpets that are filthy.

My steamer works great on everything else on the interior except filthy carpet!

looking back i would have not bought the desiderio, i would have gotten the vx5000 for the great steamer and purchased the mytee hp 60 for the awesome hot water extraction.

We attended a 6 day traning session with Renny and that is where we also purchased our steamer. Hose already modified and ready to go. But you're right, the hose Renny offers is so much better than the stock one. He takes the original hose and does a number of upgrades to it and it really makes a difference.

The training must have been superb, you must have learnt a lot :xyxthumbs:

I wanted to get trained there but the airfares are really prohibitive and exchange rate just inflates it.

Anyway, been reading and learning a lot from the online forums. My first detailing tool was a steamer (A Nimbus 3000 from UK coz of 220v issue). Seldom used as I'm still learning the trade. But I've used it on a few vehicles. It did a nice job on the headliner, the fabrics although i've experienced a lot of trial and error. I have some pics, need to do a little search.

If you could share some tips it would be very nice of you :props:.

Anyway, If I were in your place, I'd go for a wet vac only ( a Bissell Little green may be). Both the steamer and the wet vac would go hand in hand. Added to that, you'll use limited chemicals.

Take care buddy
