Steering wheel fading HELP!!

You might try a Lexus forum and see if it's happened to other steering wheels and if it has find out what they did to rectify the situation. It may be a coated leather and it's just wearing off. Possibly a leather repair expert could dye the wheel leather but I don't know if it would last. Good luck.

The parts that are faded is the parts thats seen the most abuse you could try layering leather conditoner but the best way would be to redye the wheel or get a new one

Ok thanks I was using armour all on the car I switch over couple months ago will 303 be good when I fix it

I work for 303, the aerospace protectant will provide 30 to 45 days of uv protection depending on use. If you want to use it on your steering wheel be careful with slickness, 303 is not slick, but it is slicker than nothing

I've been using CG Leather conditioner and my steering wheel has been nice and black ever since summer. I do touch it up every other month or so. Mine is leather wrapped, but not coated.

Keep in mind brand new leather usually appear gray and not a deep black. The reason the steering wheel is a deep shiny black is because it's full of oils and dirt.

You're just returning it to the way it's supposed to look.

This should give you an idea of how it should look when it's clean:

If you were using Armour All, I'm surprised the black plastic isn't turning gray too. Years ago before I knew better, I used the stuff on the interior of the BMW I owned at the time and it gave all the plastic this faded, oxidized, gray apperance to my black interior. A few treatments with a quality product and it all went away.

It was turning gray it looked good for a couple days but after that back to gray what do you use
