I usually have wheels that are maintained on my car, but I saw stoners tarminator. Does this remove like the small tar spots on wheels? When should I use something like this, (before or after wheel clean) and where can I buy?

This product can be purchased at O'Reilys, Tractor Supply, Autozone, and here at Autogeek if not available locally. I have never used on wheels, so really can't speak to it's effectiveness on them. However, I use Meguiar's Wheel Brightener and D.U.B. By Meguiar's with huge success at removing tar spots on wheels.

If I were to use Tarminator on wheels I would use post wash after I had removed majority of dirt.

I use Tarminator a lot. Never on wheels though. Although I just got a detailing tip regarding Tarminator for tires prior to dressing.

I mainly use Griot's heavy duty wheel cleaner. That, some elbow grease and wheel woollies.

I'm sure it depends on the wheel...

You can get it here on Autogeek.

I use it a lot on wheels, especially the barrels. I buy it in the 5 gallon drum directly from Stoners. I also know that Richy here on AGO uses it a lot as well.

Its frankly the best tire cleaner I've used...prior to dressing or coating.

Yes, you can use it on wheels, but its not a cleaner. Use it after cleaning to remove tar. That's what it was made for.

Yes...Tarminator is a powerful cleaner:
It is formulated to get the stuck...unstuck.

When should I use something like this, (before or after wheel clean)
Spray Tarminator directly onto a clean, dry cloth...
and then wipe it over the pre-washed surfaces.

and where can I buy?
Stoner Tarminator removes bug residue, tar, tree sap, gum and more from automotive surfaces! bug & tar remover, auto spot cleaner, car bug & tar

I recall seeing Zach (ZcMcgovern) doing it this way and I had to try it. :dblthumb2: Superb results.

Is there any danger in spraying it directly onto the paint?

My wife drives through an area where there is a lot of road work combined with tar/chipping road surface. The vehicle has significant tar spray all over the sides. I'm thinking the level of cleaning needed would be better served by direct spray vs. applying to the towel/rag/cloth.

Yes...it's safe to directly spray onto paint.
(Dwell-time should be closely monitored, though, IMO)

I suggested a method to keep product overspray
to a minimum. Sounds like that is the least of
your concerns when regarding the amount of tar
that's accumulated upon your Wife's vehicle.

I also buy it by the 5 gallon drum and use it on most cars I clean. Amazing stuff on wheels or paint. Wash afterward.

Wash afterward.

Truth. I've had it degrade a speedy prep towel when I didn't wash it off as well as I should have. Left a mess of polymerized rubber on the paint in areas I had de-tarred.

On the flip side, it's also very good at removing polymerized rubber from paint.
