I store my car in my garage, in a car capsule during the winter. Just wondering if there are any negatives to this. I recently posted about Leatherique and got to thinking that perhaps - just perhaps - the constantly moving air may have contributed to the dry leather.

I have used them too. As long as the plastic doesn't move around and run on the paint you are fine.
Best possible way to prevent "critters" from moving in.
And about the moving air. I put the car in, plug in the blower until it fills up, then unplug the blower and cap the blower inlet. Now I will also say that I have a tan flannel car cover on the car and I keep many many large bars of desiccant in there with the car. The car is just like it was before being put in the bag.

Yes, I sure have learned to hate mice. No need to even think of mice while using the capsule.

Just asking (I don't have a car capsule, yet) :):

-Did you detail the leather (clean/protectant) before your storage began?
-How long was the vehicle stored?
-Did you periodically check the status of the vehicle's systems/interior/exterior?
-Did you have the windows up/down
-The air that was being moved...humidity level inside capsule?

Hope you didn't mind the questions. I just feel they could have some bearing on your dry leather question.

I've left my vehicles in a non-heated/non air-conditioned/non-air-cooled garage for months at a time without the leather "drying". Though, I always check 'em out every now and then. Thus the reason I mentioned I want a car capsule.

Well, we have one capsule and will be getting another. The car is rarely driven so it stayed in the bubble almost a year. I doubt it caused the problem; the car is 20 years old and the leatherique is working - I just posed the question in case others noticed dryness as a result. the constant fan does result in the air changing frequently AND the humidity is quite dry in the winter. The garage is not heated but being attached to the house it never freezes. Yes, I am pleased with the bubble. It is a 2 person job to put the car in it and zipper it up. I put a car cover on the car as well in case the power failed - I did not want the bubble deflating and landing on the paint. Put the car in it while it is still a bit warm or the plastic will be very stiff. It is impossible to store the bubble back in the box that it came in so have a bubble storage place in mind for when the car is not in it.

Didn't know this beforehand. Glad you have one for: Year & make of car? Thanks...Bob
