Strange Pricing for LC HT Pads - Packs vs Singles?

Was browsing the prices for the LC HT pads, and found something strange. A 3-pack of the low-profile 5.5 inch pads is 27.99; however, the price of a single low-profile pad is 8.99. Times 3, that's 26.97 - that is, the 3-pack is over a dollar more expensive then buying three single pads! Same thing for the 4-inch pads - a 3-pack is 17.99, while single pads are 5.99; buying three single pads would be a few cents cheaper (17.97 vs 17.99) than buying a 3-pack.

It's not a big amount of money, either way, but I did find it strange that buying a pack would be more expensive than buying singles - shouldn't it work the other way around?
 
hmmm, multi-packs must be new.

They were never offered here before, just on the wolfgang site, where they are cheaper.
 
I never noticed that. I wonder if it's a mistake.

It has been that way since July. I just ordered multiple singles.

They have a couple of those 'intelligence" tests.
 
BTW - AG is by no means the only place that I've found that. Used to question it to no avail.
 
I guess posting here did something - they've also repriced the 4-inch three-pack :)
