strange question about car carpet

Hey guys, i know this may sound a little strange but ill go ahead and ask. So i bought some good expensive carpet floor mats for another car i recently bought and they look and feel great. My car is a manual and my car doesn't have a footrest so i usually rest my foot under the clutch pedal on the carpet. The mats i bought do not cover this part of the carpet. So i am resting my foot flat on that surface. My question is if i keep just resting my foot there, will this eventually ruin and wear the carpet? Or will it be ok as my foot is flat on it and not digging in? Thanks everyone in advance and happy detailing .

personally i don't out my feet under any pedals.. just on the offchance i have to get my foot onto the pedal in a hurry and it gets caught up..
