Stripping with Apc

So the other day I stripped of the wax from my buddy car with CG wash and gloss mix with there APC all clean
Is it really safe to do this on cars ?
Or is there better method people use for stripping wax?
I'm almost out of CG wash and gloss and recently purchased Hyper Wash by meguiars
Does the soap matter when it comes to mixing with APC or can I use any soap as long I mix it
I've also tried CG Clean slate but I still seem to bead on certain parts of the car

Also CG all clean is it suitable APC for stripping wax or would you guys recommend get different APC?

I'd love to hear everyone input and best solution for this

I personally wouldn't do it to any of my vehicles or any customers vehicles.

You can always use a cleaner wax etc to prep the surface.
 
When I stripped the layers of wax from my truck, I used Meguiars apc. The one issue I encountered was streaks on the rubber trim around my windows. I let the apc dwell to long. I gave a rinse then a thorough high foam wash

I would not use APC on my paint or rubber trim.

I do not like stripping Wax with APC. Paintwork cleansing lotion is my preferred method unless using a mechanical abrasive. There are many good brands on the market. Streaks, white spots and other horror stories have been reported using APC's. I'm also sure that most APCs will not remove 100% of today's waxes and sealants as modern chemistry in increasingly making better LSP's. But this is just my opinion and method.
 
The only true way i know to strip the paint is by polishing, with a cleaner or actual cut polish. Wash and gloss and apc aren't really even stripping your car, they are laying a film over it. In turn that film hinders the wax and its beading.

•IMO:
-Unless the Wax, on your Buddy's car,
was very close to, or at the end of its
expected life-cycle...then the APC
probably did not completely strip it.

-It's not so much the safeness and/or
the suitability factors of APCs ability
to strip Waxes, or not...

-Rather, it's that the only way to ensure
that Waxes will be totally stripped, is to
polish/abrade them away.

Just a side note, we have one of the greatest detailing resources on this forum in the world in Mike Phillips and I can't recall him recommending using an apc to strip old wax off of a cars finish. :props:

Hmm I see soo as long as I have polish with some abrasive it will remove whatever was sitting on the paint? As far (wax/sealant)
would AIO be good way remove it ? I currently own

The only guaranteed way is to polish. A good finishing polish would remove old wax and the like, in fact any finishing polish will remove everything from your car. Basically anything with abrasives in it, including paint cleansing lotion that have just enough abrasives to remove old waxes.

You could. Do you have a da polisher?

Those others I posted can be used by hand or machine, they are more creamy and spread easier by hand.

PS I have all of them including the ones you mentioned above.

Yea I have like 5 I think Lol AG got me addicted 🤤
I also got whole line from rupes polishes and griots boss creams
I just recently purchase jescar compound & polish
And menzarna sf3500 and hcc 300
But I wanted to know if AIO will do the same since they leave layer protection right after I wasn't sure if it would intefere with it since the old LSP is still on the car

It'll strip it, you're good to go with what you have.
