For the labor day special, I was given as the free gift a No Mess tire applicator that was super strong. It was easy to use on truck tires as it didn't tear up like the others that I have used. It recently separated from the backing and I wanted to pick up a few more and I can't seem to find it anymore on the site. Does anyone have a recommendation for a tire shine applicator that is super strong and lasts a long time? This is NOT the applicator that was given to me:

Tire & Trim Dressing Applicator

it was a black and white applicator. The white part was a dense foam that you held on to and the black was the applicator. I am placing an order tonight and would hope i could find something similar!

Thanks!

edit: Looks like this is the one I want to purchase. Can't find it! Argh!!

I couldn't find those in autogeek's store but I bought a two pack of applicators that look identical to these otc and they haven't separated. I just put them in a plastic baggie after use and they have held up great.

I have used applicators like those but the foam seems soft and easier to tear compared than others. They do spread nicely.

I've had great success using this tool, hope it's not taboo to post a link to another conpetitors site:

Tire Dressing Applier & Pads

The plastic knob rotates as the curved pad stays in contact with the sidewall

I use those. They sell them at O'Rileys auto parts store around here.

It seems they are on back-order.
For me, the best applicator is a painter's brush: economical and extremely durable!
Other suggestion: dishwashing sponge...

That is the one! Put it on my wish list.

Ive used paint brushes, and while they work well, they take forever to do a 37" truck tire which I do often for customers.

the first applicator you posted is terrible, separated in its first use for me. I usually use the swipes with a black foam face and a green foam backing, work well, most durable that I've used.
