I was so shocked and saddened by tonight's news of the shootings in Virginia. My heart just breaks for the families of the dead and the survivors who have to live with this shock and trauma for the rest of their lives. Such a tragic tragic day. :(

At first I thought it was only 1 person and was like that really sucks.....and then the tally came out to last I heard 33 or 34 dead....crazy:(

Very sad for the familes of the people shot, everyone at the university and the whole country.

Yeah, it's kinda crazy just listening about it on the news. Hard to believe we now hold the record for a mass killing. So sad.

This really is terrible. I can't even imagine what it would be like if that happened here at FAU. It really ruined my day yesterday and today its every where, conversations, news, etc.

I really feel for the parents and other students directly affected by this.

It's a shame to have to feel like your risking your life every time you leave your home.
It scares me to bring a child into this world.

Hence why me and my wife have mutally areed to not have kids for a long time. Honestly I would rather live far into the woods will bringing up a child (still taking them to social funtions of course). You want to keep them safe and shelter them from harms way and at the same time not over shelter them so they can funtion while on there own in sociaty. Sucks

My 2nd oldest daughter is at the end of graduating from a community college and wants to attend a University . b/c of this shooting and prior school shootings she tells me shes scared to be at school .. i aslo hear the same thing from my youngest daughter whos a sophmore in High School..

Have you guys exp this with your own kids if so what do you tell them so they feel safe when attending school ?

Words cannot adequately describe the actions of this individual. I can't even imagine how many lives this event has touched directly not to mention those of us who just see a news cast.
