So Been detailing for less than a year but I've finally built up enough of a client base to start buying some stuff in bulk. Most of my customers do not care a lot about what I'm doing they just want the car to look good, often times just better than it did when I got there. For the customer who does not have a specific request and just wants a wash and wax, what would you suggest the best all around wax would be sold by the gallon?

I would try to offer at least a One Step to your customers. A quality One Step product can really make the paint surface pop for your customer who doesn't want to spend a lot of money. I enjoy working with the Blackfire One Step. Great results!

Blackfire One Step 32oz.
BLACKFIRE One Step, BLACKFIRE Total Polish & Seal, polish and wax, cleaner wax, car polish

If your customer is only looking for a basic Wash & Wax than I would look at the Meguiar's D-156 X-Press Spray Wax. It's very cost effective and does a pretty good job.
Meguiars Synthetic X-press Spray Wax, X-press car wax, Meguiars X-press spray liquid wax, D156

I enjoy working with these quality spray wax products -

Blackfire Carnauba Spray Wax 32oz.
BLACKFIRE Carnauba Spray Wax,BLACKFIRE Midnight Sun Spray Wax, spray car wax, aerosol wax

Wolfgang Fuzion Spray Wax 16oz.
Wolfgang Fuzion Spray Wax offers extended wax protection that was previously not available in a spray!

Pinnacle Souveran Liquid Spray Wax 16oz.

Because of it having patented UVA and
UVB absorbers: Optimum Car Wax.

Optimum Car Wax 128 oz. Refill

Gotta agree with Bob on this. For what you want, this fits the bill. I haven't tested the UV claims, but it's why I'd use it.

One Step is a great AIO. I really enjoy using this one. I'll be ordering more when i get low.

Ultima Acrylic is the other spray wax I like, next to Opti's Car Wax. Not sure they sell by the gallon, though.

Umm.... Maybe it’s just me, but the way I read it what he wants is basically the bare minimum or at least his customers would not only never know the difference nor would they really care as long as “their vehicles look better than when he arrived”

Why is UV protection suddenly mandatory for his needs? Since he described wanting a basic no frills easy to apply along with easy on the wallet product he can buy in bulk, I agree with the previous suggestion of Meguiars D156 Synthetic Spray Wax.

Keep it simple Simon. No need for him to try and overthink for his customers.

Megs express wax. I offer Hybrid Solutions as a long term sealant upgrade. BeadMaker is good too. It adds gloss and slickness

Optimum and Meg's are great as mentioned above.

But since we are throwing out the names of some good spray waxes, I'll throw DG Aquawax out there........... :)

Is optimum wax good as a drying aid as well?

It does a great job IMO.

A little goes a long way, though. Too much, and you begin to get streaks.

Nothing a quick buff won't cure, but why add another step after drying?

It’s been somewhat pondered:

Why provide additional UV protection to
the paint systems on vehicles that belong
to clients that fall into the following category?

Most of my customers do not care a
lot about what I'm doing they just
want the car to look good, often times
just better than it did when I got there.
Conscientiously speaking (IMO):

1.)
”Don't ever promise more than
you can deliver; but always deliver
more than you promise.”
~Lou Holtz

2.)
•Paint systems, themselves, will generally
last longer on vehicles that are provided with
additional UV protection.

-Longer lasting paint systems usually equates
to longer vehicle ownership, which in turn yields
more future visits from these owners/vehicles
to the OP/Detailer = $$$$

Well I'm leaning toward the Optimum/Blackfire combo. I do like the added UV protection for the price and quantity of Optimum. Blackfire is $128 for a gallon but I'm guessing that will last me a while.

I literally just finished using this for the first time. My Rogue was pollen and dust covered to the max. Hadn't been washed in about six weeks. This is after washing and drying.
This is now my new go to wash with results like this.

Then this is finished off with a quick coat of Bead Maker for the final gloss.
