Weekend warrior with 2009 Genesis black pearl metallic in pretty great shape**- I have finally run out of the Zaino kit I bought back in 2009 and have been happy but am ready to step to the next level since I had to buy new stuff anyway. I drive about 3000 miles a month...and did Zaino every 3 months.
Here is the plan:
  1. Foam bath
  2. Autoscrub
  3. Mezerna 800 Super Finish Plus(maybe a light compound on rocker panels, front air dam if needed)
  4. IPA wipe
  5. Jescar Power Lock Plus Sealant

Am I done? or 1)carnuba on top?which? - 2)Nanoskin Shock on top? 3)Jescar Color Lock Carnuba on top?If yes,IPA wipe before?

**- One problem area is the black 'plastic' on top of rear bumper that has a grey haze. I have tried a cleaner wax and have tried IPA with little progress- McGuires Back to Black lasts 1 wash. guessing long term oxidation???

Thanks for you suggestions.

Welcome to AGO. You don’t have to top Powerlock obviously, but if you do, Color lock would be nice to stay in the family. No IPA is necessary after the Sealant/before the carnauba. I may suggest just doing the Powerlock for now, enjoy it’s looks and slickness until the bulk of pollen season is over, then apply the Color lock later. Carnauba can attract a lot of dust/pollen, so I try to hold off on it until late May or June at the earliest, but your call... and I don’t even know what climate you are in.

I always felt that the Menz Powerlock and DG Aquawax had a nice synergy together is you are also looking for a spray wax/drying aid.

Thanks for the input guys. FYI you were right!!! When Jescar says an extra deep, wet-look finish guaranteed they are not kidding. I was surprised by the quality and depth of the wet look. As advertised extremely easy to use. Autoscrubbed first, then Menzerna 800 ultra fine polish and the the Power Lock plus. I actually think finish did not look this good when I first drove off the dealers lot back in 2009.

For fun I will top with Collinite 845 Insulator wax and see if there is much difference. But this definitely does not need a topper and the finish literally feels smoother than glass.

Great to hear those kinds of results coming from a Z user. That stuff looks pretty good.

For the bumper trim you may have to use solution finish, DLUX or C4. Mckees trim restorer may work but a lot of the sealants are hit or miss on different trims.

Is that spray thick/waxy, almost like a spray wax, or is it a true, light QD?
