Suggestions to make AGO better than it already is :)

Hi everyone! While reading an infamous "opinion post" (you know, one of those posts where someone states a strong opinion of theirs and it creates a big conflict) I said something to the OP and the thread viewers. It went something like this "Perhaps we can be more careful about what we post, try to take some sort of lesson from "opinion threads" and spread positive criticism instead of "stirring the pot" when possible". I'm paraphrasing myself lol but this made me think... how can we both individually, and as a forum community make AGO a better place? It's not that AGO is bad now, or that people shouldn't be allowed to express their opinions, it's just that there's always room for improvement. I'm NOT talking about suggestions such as "kick out the staff" or "add more products" I'm talking about the little things we can do that would make each other (and maybe Emily Post) happier. So what are your suggestions?

I like it the way it is, what else am I going to do when I'm eating my poop corn, pop korn, pop kern...no seriously popcorn ;)

This forum is definitely more calm than others. I think the mods do a good job of taking posts for what they're worth and giving warnings if things get out of hand (I think).

I personally feel like a forum should be true to it's name, a "forum" being a place of open discussion and opinions, experiences, etc. When censorship comes into play, it loses its value. Other places really don't like if you say you don't like their home products, I mean really don't like it (bannable). I think that's a little ridiculous in that without opinions, not only can products not be improved, but you drive off others from posting and surround yourself with "yes men", which also defeats the purpose of a forum.

Yeah I know the owners of a forum can do whatever they want, i get that, but driving away people through censorship isn't the answer, after all, you can't sell anything to people that don't come back.
