My vehicle (2018 f-150) has plastic painted door pillar trim pieces. These items came with a great deal of DSSM that I would like to get rid of. Other than the swirls, these parts are "like new". What's the best way to go about this? Can their finish be corrected like the finish on metal body parts? Can I use the same swirl removers? Should I work only by hand?

I use and show BLACKFIRE One Step with a soft foam polishing or finishing pad.
One and done.
If you're going to coat these panels then you can't use an AIO. So instead, use a fine cut polish.
Under the black portion is white plastic, so if you use too aggressive of a product or pad or both you can burn through the edges and corners, so this is why I use the above.
BF One Step is now available in a 16 ounce bottle. Previously only available in a 32 ounce bottle.

The 32 ounce bottle is a much better bang for your buck though,
