I've been cutting the tags off. I'm afraid they may leave scratches. Do you guys do this too?

I always cut the tags off right before I wash/use them with these...

For me Microfiber with tag only use for interior :)
I just pull it off and wash.

I cut them off as well; no worries unless you are rubbing the edge that had the tag on the paint.

I slowly rip it off. You can then pull the remaining piece out with tweezers or sometimes your fingernails.

That's almost the same as not cutting it off, isn't it? Leaving a little edge of the tag? As d33p said, the best is to rip or cut it and pull what's left out. Actually the best is to buy towels that don't have sewn-in labels.

I don't know of many quality towels that have sewn in tags. Most are stick on or don't have a tag at all.

That is certainly true--today. Some of us have been buying MF towels longer than others.

I just tear them off by hand. No cutting, that leaves the sharp edge of the tag still in place.

Should have been more thorough or I look like I'm giving bad advice now; doesn't it? I cut off tags that don't pull off cleanly. The only towels I own that have had sewn-in tags (that I've ever used on paint) are ones I use for heavy duty cleaning on areas that I'm not concerned about polishing (areas that aren't seen or the "chrome" film-overlaid areas of a grill, like on my wife's Pilot) and I only use the side that didn't have the tag. Those towels tend to be thinner anyway so no sense in using both sides.

All other towels I use on paint are from AG, CG, MFT, and CarPro--none had sew-in tags. Thanks for keeping me honest.

I wasn't trying to be pejorative. I actually am not a big tag-remover.

I took your comment as matter-of-fact, nothing more. This is the internet and you can't always assume someone "said" something in a particular way. Besides, it gave me the opportunity to make clear my statements--better for the OP in the end.
