I had planned on washing and claying my Tundra today so I could get a coat of wax on it while I wait to get my PC/ Wolfgang kit. I just finished washing and wouldn't ya know it, it started raining! Anyway... my Tundra has white vinyl billboard lettering on every vertical panel, which is kind of a blessing because it shows the contaminants that I can't see on the paint. But after washing it, I noticed tiny tar splatters all over the lettering, which of course means tar splatters all over the paint. My question is: is bug & tar remover the best option or is one of the paint cleaner type products a better choice? Maybe CarPro Eraser? I use b&g remover on small areas but on 3/4 of the entire truck?! Yikes!

If I could expand on Smack's post a little bit...I'd maybe go with TarX over Trix unless you think there is iron contamination as well. If so, then Trix would be the one step product to get at both. Or, if you don't think it has ever been treated for iron, then also, reach for Trix to cover both bases.

I've had good luck with Poorboys Bug Squash and Goo Gone when trying to get rid of tar a clay bar couldn't remove.

I hAve used stoners tarminator and a dp sponge. I also use wd40 if I need a bit of help!

Careful with Tarminator, it can remove undercoating.

I was not aware it was that ruthless!

Is this if you let it longer too long?

I also use wd40 for small spots sprayed into a microfibre and gently rub. The car then gets a full dp extreme shampoo afterwards and dry so ensure I have not missed a spot
