Temporary Painter's Tape Bra?

I just bought a new 2014 Mustang GT/CS and will be having a clear bra installed in a couple weeks.

I have to drive about an hour to reach the installer. The thought occurred to me, to use blue painter's tape as a temporary bra for the drive down. This should make the clean up/paint prep prior to the install a lot easier as well as eliminate having to clean off pesky bug guts. I will then remove the painter's tape and perform a rinseless wash to the panels being clear bra'd.

My question to the detailing experts out there is which off the shelf painter's tape would be the best to use? I don't want to have to deal with any annoying residue last minute once I remove the tape. Thanks very much!

This is the Scotch Medium Adhesive Blue Painter's Masking Tape. (Scotch is a 3M brand).

It pulled off as easy as anything....

So the first thing we did was carefully remove the Blue Painter's Tape Bra...

Thanks for the quick reply, Mike. I appreciate it.

I will try to get some of that tape. I have had issues in the past with certain tapes leaving residue. I have never tried it on automotive paint before and didn't want to mess around using the wrong tape.
