Tesla has their Model S cars flying out of the factory as fast as they can make them. Truly an amazing car. Having personally detailed 27 of these I still get all googly eyed every time I sit down in one. The interior is so simple but so brilliant. What I always refer to as a giant Ipad in the dash for all the controls lights up as soon as you open the door. If you ever get a chance to drive one of these you'll never feel the same about any other car you drive. This specific Tesla being jet black had some serious issues with paint. I fixed a lot of them and some I chose not to. Being a daily driver you really want to be mindful of how much paint is removed. The main problem with this car is it was covered in buffer halo's and rids(random isolated deep scratches). Through my correction I was able to get it 85% perfect and restore the gloss to a jaw dropping level. After correction I used the obvious choice Opti-Coat pro to add precious microns of thickness and the ultimate in paint protection. With OptiCoat pro keeping this black beauty clean will be much easier than typical sealants or waxes.

Tesla actually dropped this on off for the customer!

The spider webbing on the car was indicative of improper washing. IMO this will make a car look really bad faster than anything else.

You can see in direct sunlight the paint looks dull and lifeless for a jet black car.

Buffer trails were super evident as well. This comes from improper use of a rotary buffer giving an almost 3d looking scratch pattern.

More buffer trails.

After a wash and decon of the paint with Iron-X and Clay I tried a test spot with my go to compound for black Tesla paint. As you can see it made a huge difference so I got to it.

This is actually 2 days later and I was close to 22 hours into this car when I finished it compounding it.

You can see the gloss on the car is much brighter and I still have another step to go.

Fast forward another 4 hours and finishing polish was done as well a wash to strip all the polishing oils off the paint to prep for Opti-coat pro.

The next morning after a very late night of getting the paint, wheels, and front windshield coated. I pulled it out side to nit pick a few things and take some pics.

That's what black should look like!
