Last summer the owner of this beautiful Tesla Roadster contacted me regarding the condition of his vehicle's paint. He was interested in protecting it with something that will make the paint look its best and that has great durability with easy maintenance. After inspecting the paint up close and discussing the owner's driving habits (it's driven daily) we agreed on correcting and coating the paint with CQuartz UK.

On to the show!

As you can seen the vehicle is kept very clean; however, the paint had seen better days...

The entire front clip was covered in Tesla's "paint armor" (paint protection film), which required careful polishing to repair damage...

Started things off with a thorough cleaning of all exterior surfaces. Wheels were nearly perfect already so they were addressed with a mild APC solution as the vehicle was foamed with Meguiar's Hyper Wash. Wash was carried out using the 2-bucket method and CarPro Merino Wool wash mitt.

The paintwork was clayed to remove bonded contaminates, plastics and wheels protected with Hydro2 silica sealant. I love this product because it gets into ALL the little nooks and crannies that would otherwise be incredibly difficult to apply protection to.

After correction (Rupes 21, D300, MFFP). A polishing step w/ M205 followed but this is how the paint looked after just the compounding stage...

And now the fun part:

For those that have not used a CQuartz coating before, this is what it looks like as it is flashing. There is a "rainbow" effect as the carrier solvents evaporate and leave the solid ceramic layer attached to the paint.
