Just wanted to say thank you to Mike Phillips for answering all my questions and making detailing a vehicle so much fun. He takes the time to respond clearly so we can understand all aspects of detailing. Most importantly passes on his vast amount of experience and expertise to everyone on the forums. It's rare in this day an age to come across someone so dedicated to their craft and is also willing to share that knowledge. I cannot thank you enough.

You are the best!
Kevin

I'll second that! Mike will say "oh, it's just his passion" or "i just love my job" or something humbling but his character is beyond reproach and it's his easy manner along with that encyclopaedic brain that he so willingly shares with us that i truly appreciate.

And have for many years...

Thanks Kevin,

I appreciate you taking the time to share the above as it means a lot to me.

One thing I do is I never forget my roots. Not my detailing roots or beginnings but how frustrated I was back when I was searching for "good" how-to information to restore the paint on my 1948 Plymouth Coupe.

This was my second car in high school and the first custom paint job that I had worked pumping gas at $1.65 per hour and saved up every penny to pay for.

I blew up the engine and by the time I had the new engine installed, rebuilt the brakes, switched the car over work on 12 volts, (original was 6 volts), the brand new paint job had oxidized and large round/oval spots appeared in the paint from where water had pooled and dried over the course of the months the car sat outside exposed to Oregon rain and sun.

I tell the story in this interview with Dennis Gage about how this experience led me to be passionate about helping others to detail their cars and it stems from my own experience of NOT being able to get good help.

But again, thank you for your kind words.

It's always my pleasure to help others reach their goals.

:)
