Hi all. I have a 2001 Mustang GT convertible, and no matter how much I clean the interior of my car, I cannot get rid of that plastic-y smell out of my car!!! I've used a 15:1 OPC mix and the seats and panels are spotless but that smell remains... I don't know if anyone knows what I am trying to describe, but it's almost smells like plastic toys from the 90's... PLEASE HELP!!

I recall the smell of 90's Mustangs being plastic smelling. There really isn't anyway to get rid of the smell, it is the smell the carpet, seating, dash and trim give off. I would guess the mustang is lower mileage and well taken care of? Otherwise it probably would smell like a 16 year old used car.

Many people would give good money to get back the smell you are trying to get rid of. Only thing I can think of is masking the smell with an air freshener.

Really? Is the smell that reminiscent?

The car has about 146K on the clock but I've cared for the car greatly with tune ups, parts replaced with OEM Ford, and so on and so forth.

Here's a good way to get rid of that smell:

I was thinking it was more off-gassing type of smell, I like that type of smell.

You could try an ozone machine.

I like Klasse's recommendation best:)

Sadly those machines are not allowed in California ..
