for anyone who is interested, when i got my foamer i was disappointed with how you could only barely cover an engine bay without having to stop, remix your solution again or refill from your larger container. needed a way to use this to do a whole car dwell, mainly for my supra, not so much for the truck, but the truck is a good tester for new wash methods.

i found this sprayer which worked perfectly for it.

1 Gallon Tank Sprayer at Menards

all you have to do is remove the tank and siphon tube from the foamer asembly, and set them aside, cut the end off of the siphon tube for the garden sprayer and attach it to the barb fitting on the foamer. the pickup for the garden spray is perfect, already has a little filter on the end and sit at the bottom of the tank just fine.

i also removed the oring from the pumper assembly because with the foamer it needs to draw air into the tank to keep the case from being put under vacuum. this worked perfectly because now the whole thing has a nice handle to carry around as well.

garden sprayer was only 8 dollars. 1 gallon tank.

the solution i started with was a 2 ounce per gallon of Chemical guys citrus wash and gloss. and after going halfway through it, i refilled it to the mark with water so i had a 1 ounce per gallon solution and it worked out perfectly. at 1 ounce per gallon the CG was still foaming a bunch, so big plus that you can use so little and still get good results.

the wash method i used was a boars hair brush in a rinse bucket full of hot water (hot to allow the bristles to get soft quick and to keep them soft and clean off easier). garden hose, and the foamer. quick spraydown to remove the loose dust and dirt, then foam it up, 1 gallon of solution is more than enough for the whole thing. then went to work 1 panel at a time. dunk in the rinse, sling some off, and go over the panel with the brush. then dunk and rinse, repeat.

it worked out pretty well, little easier than a 2 bucket method, and before doing any panel i threw some more foam on it after the dwell so there was plenty of suds and soap for the brush to work with. this is exactly the kind of method i wanted to use initially with the boards hair brush but didn't know of any soap that would let you get your whole car sudsy enoug hto let the brush glide over it like that.

some pictures of the gallon foamer used.

the foam was pretty clingly, and was able to dwell on the sides for a while, this shot was after 30-40 seconds of standing on the panel while it was slowly sliding off. although the truck isn't coated very well, it does have very tall and straight sides, so doing a car would give a better result anyway. and take much less time and solution to coat and clean.

hope this helps somebody who was in the same situation as me, disappointed with the capacity of the foamer itself.
