Hello All

Bobby at AG was kind enough to send me the following to review:

I used the full product line on 2014 Porsche Cayman R, the client requested wax only, no sealant or coatings on the paintwork as it will given a full correction in the Spring of 2018.

Wheels first: here is the shot of the dirty wheel:

The wheel cleaner to my surprise did have the chemical make up to turn brake dust purple and it did have that all familiar chemical ordor we love/hate so well and the product tried to mask the smell with a hint of grape scent. I would give this B- because this product would work very good on a well maintained wheel.

After shot:

Next up is the shampoo, which smelled like grape bubblegum, the directions stated use a cap full per gallon, so what is cap full from the black cap on the bottle? I poured water in the cap and it measured .5 of an ounce, so in my bucket which had 4 gallons of water I used 2 ounces and in my foam cannon bottle 2.5 ounces. The product is rather thick and made a little difficult to get the product out of my measuring cup. I had to actually use my finger to remove the product.

Shampoo gets an B+ as the product is too thick and directions did not state ounce mearurents and if I used the cap from the bottle it would have made a mess of the bottle after use

The wax, it had no order at all, easy to use, spread thin, a little goes a long way

Here is the shot of open jar, a little disappointed on appearance.

Tool used and the 3” pad fit in the jar very well and forgot what a pleasure it is to use the Griots mini

The wax gets a B+ as the product should have been smooth/level when you open the jar

The glass cleaner was very nice to use no streaks or hazing, I spayed the product on a white glass towel and turned it over to buff the rest off, the product smelled like wintergreen

I’m giving this A, it did what it is meant to do

Metal polish had no fragrance and was white in apperance

Here is what it took off on the exhaust

This gets a solid A

Tire dressing very nice product not to thick or runny, I used a Carrand tire brush and applied the product direct on the brush
View attachment 60578
The product once applied gives the tires a very shiny black apperance but my OCD got to me and used a papertowel to knock the shine down in fear of tire sling and because I know what my client likes his tires to look like

Here are the glory shots:

Final thoughts and observations:

The red plug....in the shampoo, metal polish, wheel cleaner are a pain to remove, I had to use a thin head screwdriver to remove them and while removing them I had remain cautious to not spill product

Look at the first pictures, the labeling of the product is not consistent, “Detailing Garage” is in an oval and not in an oval. The apperance of the wax in the open jar. The small things, I know... Did the products perform as they should have YES, will my clients ever see the products probably not

I hope you enjoyed the review

All the best

Great review atgonzales! The Cayman looks fantastic!

How the wax looks is appalling.

Nicely done! Fast turn around too! I haven't even received my BC products from Bobby yet but I already I feel like I'm slacking on my review!!

Thanks guys, as far as review writing: I’m no Angus or Marc but I’m learning...

Thank you for posting this honest review on the Boyd Coddington Detail Garage products. I'm not sure what happened to the jar of Signature Series Carnauba Paste Wax. Was the box damaged during transit? I just went and pulled 10 jars off the shelf and opened them up and they all look perfectly fine.

I personally don't like the red plugs in the bottles either. Boyd Jr is going to be switching over to the foil seals. He is also working on new labels for the bottles.

I've been using the Boyd Coddington One Step Wheel Cleaner and Extreme Black Tire & Rubber Dressing for a while now.

Here's a 2011 Grand Sport Corvette I did a few months ago.

Bobby

The box could have turned over during the shipping process, the product worked fine, It was just a matter of apperance. Here is an EXACT comment by my client he texted on a full Boyd wash and wax, “Wow it looks incredible.” That says a lot

Again thank you for the opportunity to do the review for AG

Awesome! I'm glad your client was very happy with the results. Thank you again for doing this review.

Awesome set of reviews on the Coddington products. This looks like a really good product line. Will definitely have to try out some of these in the future.

Great reviews - I'd be interested to see an in depth review of the Boyd coating. Especially since it claims to be safe for paint, glass, trim and wheels. Not much out there about it although I've seen a couple people mention one off comments at times about it being a great coating.

The Tru-Coat Ceramic Coating (9H) is a great product. It's a little grabby feeling but it's very durable. The water beading and sheeting is awesome with this coating.

I have seen GSKR mention the coating. He is a real pro so his input I would trust.
