Good evening everyone!! I did a some work on a co-workers GMC Sierra this weekend and thought I would share some pictures.

I ended up doing this job because we were talking about paint at work and a friend of mine was saying he had to get his hood and roof repainted because it was all jacked!! He had previously went to other detailing companies to ask if his paint could come back to life but was told there was no saving it and it needed to be repainted and re-cleared.

The next day I decided to take a look at it in the sun and thought it would be a great challenge to see the level of correction I was capable of. I took on the challenge and see below for the results. :buffing:

Products used:
GG6 DA
Meguiars Car Wash
Wolfgang Uber Wheel Cleaner
Meguiars APC
Mothers Clay bar
Ultima Waterless wash as clay lubricant
Iron X
Wolfgang Ultimate Compound 3.0
Menzerna FG400
Meguiars D300
Menzerna SF4000
CarPro Eraser
CarPro PERL 1:1
Duragloss 111
Duragloss Aquawax 952
Meguiars tire gel

I ended up doing a quick comparison with the Wolfgang Ultimate Compound 3.0 and Menzerna FG400.. see thread here

Another Happy customer!!

Guess he doesn't need that hood and roof repainted after all... Im the MAN

Thanks for looking everyone!! :buffing:

Wow. Amazing turnaround. That CarPro PERL looks awesome as well. Any idea on how long it lasts? Might just have to pick some of that up.

Wow great fix! Looks fantastic:)

Thanks guys!! :) Very happy customer.. haha

I will be monitoring the longevity of the PERL. It looked like it would last for a while based on the depth it added and finish. It dried up but still shined like crazy, so it doesn't seem as though it would attract much dust either.

Very nice turnaround. PERL looks great at 1:1 until it runs off the plastic onto all the paint.

Thank you sir. I am in Vegas so it doesn't rain very much. I will continue to monitor it to see if I need to dilute it for exterior trim.

Beautiful work Jace! Amazing turnaround on that truck. I'm sure the owner couldn't believe his eyes.

Keep up the outstanding work good sir.

Thanks Mike!! He was surely surprised. lol..

You know I will keep pushing brotha.. the FLEX is calling me name.. haha

holy cow! how did you rid the hood of that oxidation? Just claying? or did you clay as much as possible then use a compound?

Thanks

I did clay it, but it did now remove any oxidation at all. I basically used 3 heavy cut pads for the hood alone. Two to remove the brunt of the oxidation then a 3rd to go over it all again to remove any small traces that were remaining.

Wow. Great job on removing that oxidation. The end results speak for themselves.

GREAT JOB!

That poor truck was is really sad shape.

I have its' brother (Chev) and with all that plastic trim, I've found Meguiar's Ult LIQUID Wax (SUPER thin application) does a great job for protection.

Thanks guys!! :) She really needed the TLC she got.

Thanks for the tip Bill. :buffing:

My GOODNESS! I almost fell out of my chair at those results. I think I'd have recorded his reaction. I may need to give WGUC a shot one of these days. So, did he sign up for a yearly or twice per year detail?

Seriously nice work. That Vegas sun obviously puts a beating on vehicles.

Amazing restoration, especially after "the other guys" couldn't even touch it. Whatever amount you charged him was probably only about 1/10th of the amount that he gained back in value of the truck.

Hey, did you order the Flex yet?

Haha.. I am still watching it!! The wife picked up a new hobby so we are still getting her machines...THENN my flex will come :buffing:

Thank you very much sir!! :D He was overly pleased for sure.. since he really didn't expect very much to come out of it... lol.. WGUC was a definite pleasure to work with. You should really give it a shot!!

We did talk about a maintenance plan but nothing final yet. He is supposed to bring his wife's truck by as well so we may discuss some details then.

I really appreciate the kind words :)

Thanks a lot sir. You are right.. He surely gained some value in his truck since a repaint is no longer necessary.. haha

Well wait to see what is revealed at SEMA before ordering. I dont have any idea what will be there but its better to wait now that you are so close to getting one.
