First day picking the kids up at school today and another parent decided to squeeze by rather than waiting for another car to pass, thus scuffing the mirror housing of my 335xi. In my shortsightedness, I traded off my Megs 105. I know people have talked about an OTC equivalent. I figure I should keep some on hand for such occasions. I would appreciate it if someone could remind me what the product is called. Thanks!

105 is available at Pep Boys where I live.

It is with the body shop/paint supplies, not with the waxes, etc.

105 is at advance auto around me. If not, grab some ultimate compound.

Ultimate Compound is what Meguiar's uses in their "Thursday Night open Garage" teaching sessions. It's available OTC just about anywhere and while not quite as aggressive as 105, UC is still very effective by hand or machine and has a shorter learning curve for newbies.

What foam pad and what speed are best for UC. I use Buff & Shine 5 1/2' pads.

Wal-Mart also carries M105/205 sometimes. As for the pad and speed I would do a test spot and see which works best, but for general recommendation either a green or orange pad on speed 5.

af90 much obliged for your reply.
I have both orange and green pads. I use UC and U/Polish and U/Spray Wax as well ass U/Detaler. All are outstanding products... IMO.
