I'm getting ready to retro fit my garage for my new hobby and am looking for some ideas. I saw posts about detailing collections but nothing about the workspace. If you guys have any ideas, tips or suggestions, please let me know!!!!

Here's mine. :)

The most important component is lighting. I installed 8 T8 duals. Amazing difference. My next upgrade will be installing a split unit Heat Pump.

Agreed...lighting is crucial. I have 6 sets and can fully detail all night long with the doors closed. Heated, 4" slope for water run off, water faucet inside, insulated doors, custom 8' doors (just so my truck will fit) and just installed a 62" 9,500cfm ceiling fan today! Can't wait to try it out.

Wow! Nice setups guys. In the house I rent in Atlanta my roommates just installed 10 new 8' overhead lights. It's very nice. In Savannah I have 2 of them. In Naples, none! Sucks.

Damn Galaxy! That's a nice setup! :)

Very nice!!!

Galaxy I love that garage! Very nice!

On a side note, I see that you're an AMSOIL person... I currently use Royal Purple but am wanting to try AMSOIL.... maybe in a couple of oil changes lol

I'll have to take some new pics of mine; it's currently in a state of total disarray as I am in the process of remodeling it for the second time. Last re-do was way back in 2003 so it's time to update.

Already have the lighting and reorganization basically done, but I have yet to paint, touch up the walls, or get the concrete leveled and racedeck flooring installed.

This is my garage where I'm doing my detailing work:

Love the Amsoil Banner

My gargage is a chaotic mess. Junk everywhere. Boxes piled high. Lighting that doesnt work very well. Its pretty big. Has a very nice workbench, that he built with plenty of tools and plenty of storage, huge table saw, it has it all. He died about 10 years ago and I was young and had no use for it at the time so its gone downhill. :( Its just storage now for what doesnt fit in the house.

Some pictures of my garage. :checkit:

You most certainly like the color red... :props:

I see these really clean garages and I wonder where do you store your stuff, I have Christmas stuff, boat gear, lawn mower, planting items.... I have so many tupperware bins I could never achieve a roomy garage. Mine is organized but FULL!
Thinking I need a shed in the back yard!

Meghan! lol, i always wonder why people have so much stuff in their garage. i store all my tupperware, bins, christmas stuff, etc in the attic.

out of site!

i have my lawnmower and yard stuff on the left side of garage near the front entrance so that it isnt a focal point when people look in the garage. then i have other small yard tools, supplies, general garage supplies, and car maintainance stuff(oils etc) in the metal cabinet next to the identical one where i store my detailing supplies and motorcycle hemlets.

i guess the key is to use attic space if u got it!
