I recently purchased a few of the Rag Company Gauntlet drying towels to try. Today I washed my daily driver, and gave them a shot. Wow do they love to soak up water! The one thing I did realize while using them is that a person has to dry in one direction. Drying in a side-side motion leaves moisture behind which I figured out right away. However after I realized that drying in a singular direction leaves nothing behind, the rest of the car was a cake walk and dry in under 5 minutes. I have, and use, Cobra waffle weave drying towels, which are a great drying towel, but I think I may be purchasing a few more of these for the towel bin and switching over.

Put it up against the Griot's PFM, and let us know what you think...... ;)

This new TRC towel is a hybrid, with a portion of it resembling the PFM and the other part more of a plush. My experience with plush towels is that they don't do a good job of drying, they sort of smear the water around.

The TRC double twistress is their closest competitor to the PFM. But I'm sticking with PFM, they've been good to me with their warranty (replaced a towel which developed snagging issues not related to my use).

Yep, CarPro came out with a towel like this a while back.

Chances are if you try a PFM then that new towel you just got will be retired with the Cobras.
