Well I have been a auto detail freak for my whole adult driving life. I was never a pro but always liked doing the best job I can. Well I just purchased a pre owned 2011 Tundra in black (of coarse) and under the light it has swirls everywhere. Not to bad during the day but up close I can see them. I hope to read and read some more on what to use and how to remove them so wish me luck as I always do things the hard way. Any tip son where I should start? Thanks!!

Many of the products I've listed are multipurpose meaning they can be used on more than one area. I've listed Optimum Opti-Coat 2.0 as a wheel protectant. While it does a great job protecting the finish on your wheels it really right at home providing one of the best protective barriers on the cars paint...:props:

BobbyG, thank you for the hospitality I will get cracking on it (no phun intended)

Be careful with your tundras clear coat, it's rather delicate and thin. I would definitely recommend Opticoat 2.0 after you do a full paint correction, it will give you a little more to work with in the future.

Read each one of those articles if you have the time. I can't tell you how many hours I put in to it. Also, if you read them quickly, you can get a game plan together and pick up some good deals on the 9 days of Christmas Sale that are left.

Best piece of advice is just work one thing at a time and learn it well. I was way overwhelmed about 2 years ago and went nuts. My results were ....sub par. Then I concentrated on one thing and got it down pat. Start with washing your vehicle properly. What sounds like an easy assignment will actually be one of the most important to learn properly. It's the base for everything to come! Everyone here is so full of information that some days I wish we were all like Neo in "The Matrix" where they could just hook us up to a machine and download all the knowledge that everyone here has! Welcome to the best detailing website around! (Last piece of advice is take TONS of pictures....these guys like LOVE pictures)

Folowing the recommendations posted by BobbyG=great results.

I have just bought a 2012 tundra in black in september and already have gone through so much with the paint I'm ready to get rid of it. Been buffed on twice before I really found this forum and afraid to really do it myself in fear of correcting to much and really messing up the clear.

If you don't have any detailing products equipment, probably the best bang for you buck would be to buy a combo pack like this one: Wolfgang Duo & Porter Cable 7424XP FREE BONUS. If you are getting this just for your truck vs. a side business thing, then this would probably get you in the right direction and get it looking nice again. Wait for tomorrow as the BOGO page should refresh and you might be able to pick up a few other items to round out your 1st purchase. Also pick up some quality MF towels.

It looks like you won't really have to worry much about shipping prices as you're in the neighborhood, relatively speaking. You could phone in the order and go pick it up & arrange for a tour. Heck, your truck could end up being another candidate for Mike's Car of the Week since you're so close. :props:

Thanks all for the help, I am actually closer than indicated I live in PSL but work down the street from them . I have been looking at their sign (60' wide)for a year and decided to look up the site. Lets just say I'm hooked .lol

Well Nick is getting an order ready for me so I can get started on this truck. I hope he is gentle with me as this will be my first time.. lol
