I have a PC and the tingling feeling I have been getting after using is getting to me.

I have heard that the UDM does not vibrate as much. But I am worried about the added weight of the UDM.

I have read that the Festool Sander ishalf the weight of the PC and less vibration than the UDM. However, I looked and the price is $440.

Any one have any suggestions or any experience with the Festool?

Are you the guy that has those shoes $800+ ? I guess you will be able to afford both then. J/k.
Speaking of reality I never used Festool. But it costs as much as 3 UDMs, so it has to be good. By the way, PC weights too much for you? UDM weights about the same, I never complained about it being heavy, neither did other members.

Its not too heavy, but lighter would be better!

Sorry no Festool knowledge here. But I can tell you about the UDM. Don't be concerned about the weight of the UDM, it's very close to the PC. The UDM is smoother, has more power and less vibration. I don't even notice a weight difference at all. I may have to weigh them and see what the difference is. Has anybody weighed them?

Come on ... you know you want a new toy. UDM or Cyclo sounds like a nice choice !

Do a search on the Festool and talk to the members that have used it... there are 2 or 3 very recent threads that talk about the festool. You'd be disappointed with the UDM if you are looking for a machine with a lot less vibrations. The weight is not an issue at all... maybe a few ounces...

So is the Festool a DA unit as well? I never knew that, I was under the impression that it was a rotary.

sell your PC on ebay and buy the UDM...i did

I use the festool everyday and yes it is a Little on the expensive side but will worth the money. The tool is well balanced and can be used like a DA/ PC you have to options. Yes I still use my metbo for heavy corrections but the fest is a great tool. TOTOLAND uses his strictly for plastic Aim little more vestal with mine. Good luck with your new machine ,
I HOPE MAEGAN OR KILLER IS OK WITH THIS:o

If you are in no hurry....wait till fall....Flex tool is bringing in a new RO/DA to the US...it is in Europe now...and what I have read on it its a nice tool....flex Tool is owned by PC or vise versa....it looks like a rotary and has a random orbit head...and a speed control in the trigger for feathering and a seperate one also....

Plus you should have more reviews on the UDM by then....

I believe DanSwede has one..he may comment on it....

I'll be waiting myself....I love tools...I have too many now..but still want more....

AL

I have most of my questions answered, I would also have to ditch my backing plates too that I have for my PC.....

Festool is not half of the weight of the PC. It is approximately same weight. Like I told you on other forum paper specs say it is 0.75 lbs less than PC and you are welcome to try it if our schedules allow.

And yes, Flex XC 3401 VRG is coming.

that would be awesome, I may also wait for that new flex too to come out

the flex looks to be a real machine
Festool is already powerfull enough to be much more than majority of us will ever need.
