I've been using some Touchup paint on my 2011 dark cherry Honda Pilot and it seems to be thickening up in the vial. I'm wondering if can add a drop or two of laquer thinner to freshen it up or is it a water based paint? If not laquer thinner, then what?

I would not add anything directly to the bottle, just in case you add too much and ruin it

I suggest mixing a small batch in a separate container as needed

Yes, lacquer thinner will do the trick. Not only does it thicken up over time, but it's usually too thick to start with, ensuring blobs.

Yes, you can (only another vote for reassurance),

just don't overdo it so the paint will be too runny... you'll have to test some dilution rates until finding the best for your job.

Kind Regards.

Find out what type of paint you have first. Use lacquer thinner for lacquer, and acetone for urethane or enamel
