Thought Mike might like to see this

That is pretty cool and I'd love to get a crack at the paint.....:props:

If it were me... I used the techniques shared i this article to do my best to rejuvenate and restore as well as preserve the original paint.

The Secret to Removing Oxidation and Restoring a Show Car Finish to Antique Single Stage Paints

Maybe someone involved with this car has seen the above article on AutoTraderClassics.com

Restoring Single Stage Paint

From the pictures, it looks like this paint could be easily brought back to life. Here's two pictures from the article you linked to...

Definitely could benefit from a hand rub down of Meguiar's #7 Show Car Glaze to bring the dead, dried out paint back to life BEFORE working on it.

Somewhere in a photo album somewhere I have pictures of a late 60's British Racing Green DB7 I buffed out in Corvallis, Oregon for BCP or the British Car People company.

Thanks for sharing... so this thread while I was offline and wanted to revisit it...

Those wheels! That would be some task restoring those...

Oh those would have to be disassembled and rechromed. Not competely positive but I think they are Rudge wheels.

Definitley a person would want to remove them to do a good job.

The big picture would be restoring the original paint correctly without ruining it.

Something to be said for 'original' as it's only 'original' once. Heck these days even, there seems to be a trend towards the "barn find" leaving as much dust and dirt as possible on the car. Doing just enough to it to get it running whle preserving the time capsule that it is for all eternity. I suspect this car would do very well at auction just on those merits. ;)

I'd love to see the clean up of this one! Awesome to see history get uncovered like this! Could be a good car for AG DF?
